Bush Broad Beans (Kutti Broad Beans / കുറ്റി ബ്രോഡ് ബീൻസ്) are a hardy, cool-season crop producing large, flat pods filled with plump, buttery beans on compact, self-supporting plants. Nutritious and protein-rich, the tender beans are delicious in curries, stir-fries and thoran. Easy to grow in cooler weather, they need little space or support. Sow seeds in full sun in fertile, well-draining soil, water regularly, and harvest in about 80–90 days. Wholesome, productive and space-friendly, bush broad beans are a rewarding crop for home vegetable and terrace gardens.
