Chilli bird eye – White small / mottumulaku

Small White Bird’s Eye Chilli (Mottumulaku) is a fiery local kanthari variety whose tiny pods pass through a creamy-white stage before ripening red, with an intense, aromatic heat. Cherished in Kerala kitchens and traditional remedies, these little chillies are perfect for pickles, chutneys, curries and spicy cooking. The compact, bushy plants are prolific over a long season. Sow in full sun in fertile, well-draining soil, water moderately, and harvest in about 75–85 days. Easy to grow in pots, grow bags or garden beds — a hot little must-have for spice lovers.
