Green Okra (Lady Finger) is a classic, high-yielding variety producing tender, ridged green pods that are smooth and non-fibrous when picked young. Fast-growing and heat-loving, the plants crop heavily over a long season in warm climates, fruiting in about 45–55 days. Sow seeds in full sun in fertile, well-draining soil, water regularly, and harvest young pods often to keep them coming. Delicious in stir-fries, sambar, curries and frying, green okra is an easy, generous and rewarding staple for home vegetable and terrace gardens.
