Musk turmeric / കസ്തൂരി മഞ്ഞൾ

Musk Turmeric (Curcuma aromatica / കസ്തൂരി മഞ്ഞൾ) is a fragrant turmeric prized for skincare and beauty. Famous as ‘kasthuri manjal’, its aromatic rhizomes are traditionally used in face packs to brighten skin, reduce blemishes and soften unwanted hair. Plant the rhizomes in fertile, well-draining soil with partial shade at the start of the monsoon; they mature over 8–9 months. Hardy and perennial, it grows beautifully in pots and garden beds — a wonderful, low-maintenance addition to any medicinal or herbal garden.
